What do you do?

We treat pain and restore mobility using ancient techniques coupled with modern technology. This practice helps to stimulate the body’s existing self-healing techniques, allowing it to achieve the ultimate goal of treatment closure. We help your body heal itself!

What tools are you using to accomplish this?

We use a machine called a Fascia Integrator, which is the only tool that heats up the body’s connective tissue using a unique figure 8 pattern.

What is a Fascia integrator and how is it different from other percussive massagers such as Theragun and Hypervolt?

The Fascia Integrator (FI) is a fairly large (a bit bigger than a toaster oven), rotating machine with two handles and a motor. It not only has about 100x the contact surface of a percussive massager (PM), it also moves completely differently. While PMs generate force that moves perpendicular to the muscle tissue and fascia layer you’re trying to impact, the FI moves parallel to the fascia (in the same direction that we’re trying to make it glide freely) coupled with perpendicular compression.

What is Fascia and why is it important?

Fascia is the tissue that holds everything in your body in place; muscles, organs, nerves, blood vessels, etc. For these purposes, think of it as a webbing that connects your muscles to each other and to your skin. Fascia is ideally smooth and flexible, but when muscles are put under stress, are injured, overused, or tight, the fascia tightens as well. Muscles should ideally glide over and around each other smoothly during use, but when fascia is working improperly it can be like your muscles are being held together with duct tape.

What does the treatment feel like?

Treatment can be very intense due to both the frequency of the vibration and the weight of the FI machine, but most people describe it as pleasant, like a full body vibration massage! All transformative healing techniques (cupping, deep tissue massage, acupuncture, chiropractic, therapy, etc.) involve moments of intensity and discomfort in order to help undo all of the intensity and discomfort that got us to the point of needing healing. This is no exception to that rule, but it is a generally pleasant experience with truly incredible results, which is why people keep coming back.

How will this help me as a stand-alone treatment?

FI can be used as a stand-alone before or after things like gym sessions, yoga, bike rides, gymnastics, or any physical activity of choice to help warm up or increase flexibility in your muscles, or to recover after a strenuous workout. It can also be used as a stand-alone using the REMI Method specifically for increased mobility, and for training active flexibility.

How will this help me when combined with other treatments such as chiropractic, cupping, massage, scraping, or physical therapy?

In conjunction with other bodywork, FI helps to prime the body for treatment by increasing blood flow, relaxing your nervous system, and helping muscles and fascia glide more freely, amplifying the effectiveness of other treatments. It also helps the body recover after other treatments.

How long does a session last as a stand-alone and with other treatment?

Depending on your specific needs, a session can last anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour. When paired with other methods, you can expect a minimum of 20 minutes of FI machine use.

What kinds of results have people felt from treatment?

In a single session, we’ve seen everything from undoing old or recent injuries, major increased flexibility, restoring mobility to locked joints, healing stiff necks, and more.
